Help Me Support Those At-Risk
I met Allan and Joane, the founders of Compasio, briefly at my church when they came to speak about Compasio. While Allan shared some stories about the people he helped, I knew in my heart that I needed to help. My problem was, I didn't know how. Prayer is one way of course, but I knew God was calling me to help financially. My question was, "How can you do that when you aren't making any money?
Then came the story about the Prison Babies, and I really wanted to help. Again, I'm not making any money being a stay at home mom, so I didn't know how I could do this. Then about two weeks ago, I was discussing this photo site with my aunt and she suggested I market my Scripture verse pictures as a fundraiser opportunity for churches. Well, I got thinking about that, and thought about how, when children's and youth pastors work with kids, they take lots of pictures of them. Why not talk to them about ordering products with those pictures, to keep as a great memory, and take it a step further by offering to donate 10% of the purchases they make to a cause? Of course, that needy cause had to be something that was close to my heart. Compasio came to mind right away. I emailed Allan and asked if he would allow me to post about Compasio on my site, as well as to advertise that I would be donating 10% to Compasio. He took the time to pray about it and to go over this site, and graciously said that I could go ahead.
I will donate 10% of all the purchases made here to Compasio, to support Prison Babies, Street Children, Mae Sai Child Care Center, Children's Homes and Safe Houses. Not just for a month or two, but all the time.
More about Compasio
Compasio was formed in 2006 to focus on the issue of women and children at risk in Thailand. Most of the ministry is focussed on the migrant community and tribal groups living along the Thai-Burmese border, who are among the poorest and highest at-risk people groups of Thailand.
